St Ives has long been famous for fishing and more recently holidays, but also for Art. With natural lighting which is craved by artists from around the globe resulting in an eclectic mix of artists having flocked to this small fishing harbour town, since travel became fashionable over a 100 years ago. This was the start of a tourism boom which seems to expand year upon year, yet the draw of St Ives remains strong and to a significant degree not at the expense of the town.
The Tate Gallery and Barbara Hepworth Museum are key visitor attractions. Carbis Bay a neighbouring village will remain etched on our minds with the world famous leaders and media coverage of the 2021 G7 Summit. However, surrounding connobatins such as Lelant, Zennor, Sennen Cove St. Just must not be overlooked for their appeal to tourists and inhabitants alike. Whilst across St Ives bay the Town enjoys views of Hayle’s golden sand beaches that extend along the Towans to Godrevy Lighthouse, on of Cornwall’s North Cost iconic images.
Fishing is still evident in St Ives, but the boats are more often swapped for leisure or wildlife trips or fish from Hayle Harbour. The South West Coast path is a great way to explore the rugged Cornish coastline along the North stretch of Cornwall.
For a Cornish Structural Engineer or a St Ives Building Surveyor, with knowledgeable local advice, Castria can provide you with property related solutions. We can provide a personal service, with advice ranging from basic structural designs/calculations through to an integrated multi-discipline ‘inhouse’ design team, lead by an architect specialising in contemporary or conservation design; although recently we have broken this stereotype by heading up design and project managing some large and nationally important schemes that ‘marry up’ these two differing aspects of Architecture, please refer to our website www.castriadesign.com for examples of such projects.
